Billy Kirkpatrick is a native of Burlington, NC.  He moved to Tuscaloosa in 1995 to attend the University of Alabama. In 1999, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and began work as the In-school Intervention Specialist at Maxwell Elementary School. From 2001-2006, he worked at Brewer-Porch Children’s Center in the following programs: Transition Support Services, Therapeutic Foster Care, Outpatient Day Treatment, Community Autism Intervention, and Staff Training and Resources. In 2006, he received his Master’s degree in Community Counseling. In 2005, Billy joined the Board of Directors of West Alabama AIDS Outreach and began facilitating support groups for the male consumers. In August 2007, he accepted the Executive Director role at WAAO. In addition to spending time with his 3 year old son, Billy enjoys Alabama football and Duke basketball.
