Medication Help
At WAAO our case managers link clients who qualify to an important program to help them to maintain access to HIV medications which can sometimes cost people living with HIV over $1,200.00 per month. This program is referred to as the Alabama AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)
The goal of ADAP is to reduce associated morbidity/mortality among HIV infected persons by delaying the progression of HIV disease through prevention and treatment of HIV complications. ADAP is capped at an enrollment of 1300 persons.
Currently there are 1277 people living with HIV enrolled in this program statewide.
